A memorial forest was created in the name of Yavuz Yılmaz
In the second year of the death of their son Yavuz Yılmaz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Kent University and Chairman of the Board of the Barrier-Free Education Foundation Berna Yılmaz and his wife Mesut Yılmaz, Istanbul Kent University Yavuz Yılmaz, whose sons are the founder and member of the executive board, implemented the commemorative forest project with 521 trees.
At the tree planting ceremony in the park area next to the Büyük Çamlıca Mosque, attended by Istanbul Kent University students, academics and staff; Berna Yılmaz, who planted the saplings with the students, said, “With the support of Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli and Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, it was decided to make the forest area next to the Büyük Çamlıca Mosque Park. Thank you to everyone who supported this process. We will keep the name of our son Yavuz Yılmaz alive with social responsibility projects.”
The two trees planted were named after their grandchildren Berna Ceylin Yılmaz and the recently born Mesut Kaan Yılmaz. The tree planting event, attended by the fans of the Yılmaz family, ended with the prayer in the name of Yavuz Yılmaz and the prayer dinner given in the Büyük Çamlıca Mosque.
Aid materials prepared by Istanbul Kent University and the Accessible Education Foundation (ENEV) for our citizens affected by the earthquake in Izmir were delivered to the authorities.
We rolled up our sleeves to regain our forests, which were destroyed after the fire in the Antalya-Manavgat region, and to leave a green and peaceful Turkey to future generations.
